So, we have been on hiatus for some 6 months paying off debts and getting ready for some events taking place at the end of the year.
AJ had to get a new wiring loom built and had other issues with his bike. The whole wiring loom thing became a real mission. Quotes were over £1,500 and then the guy AJ went with produced a loom full of issues. From here on we are just going to use original wiring looms and rebuild as we have done in the past.
Chris has had 6 months recovering from the eco race. He got covid twice and had trouble with fatigue and breathing during 2022. Just before the event he got another chest infection and the rally was done on a diet of steroids and antibiotics. With a 3rd bout of covid and the exhaustion of the race after it took a while to recover.
Howard and Ian took part in the Illyria raid in May. Howard took the new Aprilia Tuareg and thoroughly tested it. We will have a video of the event and our thought on the Tuareg later on this channel.
Tim (@fatrally) got his rear race tanks fitted and raced in Wales but managed to snap his 950's cam chain so has been off the road fixing that.
And Eric went to Morocco and did his 1st desert race (Tuareg Rallye).
So this series is basically a complete rebuild of a 2004 KTM 950S which really is in a sorry state. It's a classic bike and absolutely deserves a new lease of life. The bike is going to be stripped down, completely repainted, put back together and modified as a race bike with the following parts:
- Aurora Superlight race tower with MD roadbook and ICO trip meter.
- Wiring will be modified to run with no oem clock but lights and gauges for oil pressure, temp, low fuel, etc.
- Custom rear fuel tank built into the subframe.
- Scotts Steering Damper and Sub Mount (already on the bike)
- TrpleClampMoto foam filter for the intake
- Wheels re-laced for 2.5 and 1.85 rims
- Custom radiator by GMX
- Rear tail tidy (haven't decided which one)
- 265mm Suspension
- Single Disc conversion
